This slight obsession I had with Texas, let me tell you, exceeded my expectations. What a fantastic visit it was. Houston is an art gem, with its MFAH, CAMH, Menil Collection, and Glassell School of Art, to name a few. Not to mention that famous southern hospitality, the diversity, and the food. There is no doubt this is the next stop for the PoppyPink journey in the US. Get ready, y'all.

Alongside my longtime Californian photographer and friend and my new Texan friends, I found breathtaking locations. One of them is the Menil’s property with its spiritual Rothko Chapel. In Austin, I discovered the beautiful Sculpture Park at Laguna Gloria. The placement of Paul McCarthy’s White Snow #3 sculpture is mesmerizing. A must-see.

The Israeli art community finally reached a consensus on selecting Etti Abergel for the prestigious Zila Yaron Prize. In addition to being an acclaimed artist, Etti was also a mythological teacher. She taught and mentored me for two years at the Kerem Institute, and she is the reason I found my light in performance. This Friday (12/12) is the launch event for the catalog “Etti Abergel: Memoir” at CCA, if you wish to meet the legend in person. I hope and aspire to have the same impact on others as she had on my life.
PoppyPink is a minimalist performance piece commemorating Oct 7 that premiered in Central Park, New York, and is now expanding worldwide. The work aims to keep the Israeli hostage tragedy in our collective memory and advocate for human rights. Ran Gvili is the last hostage still held in Gaza. We cannot find peace until he is home.
