The Story Behind the Stamp Loupes

  • When I was little, my brother had precious stamp albums that he collected together with my grandfather. I wasn't allowed to even breathe next to them. But years went by. I became known for my collages, and in 2014, I co-curated a group show named "Abroad." I wanted to do something with postage stamps. Long story short: my brother gladly gave me all of his albums with a blessing. I created 3 Stamp Loupe pieces for that exhibition.

  • A year later, I was invited to present a solo show based on these works. I made 15 pieces. They were all sold.

  • More invitations came. More shows.

  • Then came the big break: the 2018 Fresh Paint art fair. I spent months creating 35 pieces- all sold out by opening night.

  • Since then, I've found much joy in creating these pieces alongside my other art projects: installations, performances, and, of course, collages.

  • The Loupe installations have been exhibited around the world, bringing joy to many collectors and spaces.

  • The art is a tiny collage/assemblage created on an original postage stamp. I use various small objects from different materials: paper, plastic, metal, glass, and organic materials such as feathers, wood, stone, shells, and dried flowers. The stamp is then mounted on a wooden disc covered in felt, leather, fabric, or paper. Finally, it is framed in a loupe made of a PVC dome and two magnifying glasses that enhance the 3D effect.

  • Each Stamp Loupe has a zigzag hanger on the back, placed in the same position to allow easy hanging in a line or grid. I recommend using the L-hanger included, so the work is firmly secured to the wall, especially for curious viewers who like to touch while looking. Each Stamp Loupe Art is an original, one-of-a-kind work, handmade and signed by the artist. Similar works have been exhibited in established galleries and museums. Like other artworks, its value may increase over time and can be seen as something to live with and pass on.

  • New Each Stamp Loupe Art is unique. There may be works with similar themes, but no two pieces are exactly the same.

  • Care Instructions- Cleaning: Water and humidity may damage the Stamp Loupe Art. Keep it away from humid spaces such as bathrooms, indoor pools, or saunas. Clean the surface with the dry, soft cloth provided. Do not use liquid sprays or detergents. Temperature: Extreme temperatures may cause the work to deform. Keep it in a dry place and away from direct sunlight. Packaging & Gift Wrapping: Each Stamp Loupe Art is carefully wrapped and placed in an individual cardboard box. Whether for yourself or as a gift, it is always treated as something precious. If you would like to include a greeting card, I will be happy to assist. If Damage Occurs: If the Stamp Loupe Art is damaged, it can often be repaired. Please contact me, and I will assess the work and provide a restoration quote if possible.

  • As we all know, great things come in small packages.
